Script and writing didn’t do this limited series any justice coz the story/plot has so much potential. Sooo many holes and “what the..?!”moments. I get that they are just a bunch of teenagers but to continuously put themselves in danger knowing there are killers out for blood, is just mind boggling. It’s like the series didn’t make the parents care enough and had no control over their children. These kids who made one idiotic decision after another were left to their own devices to solve murders meant for entertainment purposes. I caught myself talking out-loud to the TV asking: “Where are ALL their parents? None seemed to be involved in their kids’ lives and whereabouts.” “Why aren’t they involving the police with every Red Rose contact and with all that’s happening/transpiring?” “Why didn’t Jacob just destroy the app and disconnect the users since he had the master key?”. Jaya did it with just a few clicks. smh “Why didn’t they just all get rid of their phones?” “How was Jaya announced dead when there was no body?” “How was Ash just all of a sudden awake from her “coma”, moved to the morgue w/o ANYONE questioning anything. Better yet, Where were all the hospital staff and her parents that supposedly weren’t leaving her side?” “Why? How? Huh?”… etc etc. So many questions that cannot be answered. Dear Lazy Writers (or perhaps just not good ones) of Red Rose…. Seriously?! And dear people who actually gave this 5 stars and said it was the best show they’ve seen in a while… where have u been and who put u in a bubble? At best, this show is a poor man’s Black Mirror - the show that actually deserves a 5 star.

SPOILER ALERT: This movie had been sitting in my queue for a while coz I thought, “Eh, it’s just another zombie movie…”, but to my surprise, it caught my attention much more than I expected. Martin Freeman never cease to amaze me with his performance. The emotional journey of a father seeking refuge for his daughter - by any means necessary - would tug at your heart… esp at the end. Some complained that it didn’t include the why, how, what about the pandemic/plague but with all the same type of movies out there, does it really matter? I mean, we all know they all come from some type of lethal virus/disease so, to me, it didn’t matter. Only reason I took one star - actually just half - off because I was confused as to why his wife turned so quickly (a few hours) but it took him all of 48 hours. Perhaps it all depends on each individual person(?) Not sure. Either way, I love the movie and it goes in my list of “would watch again.”
