I would normally not even give a rating to a movie only watched for about 15 minutes. The wife stated she could not continue because of the never ending every second word being a swear word of the worst kind. We realized it was going to continue throughout the movie non-stop. All I can recommend is that unless you can tolerate the 10 worst ugly swear words you can think of listening to for an entire movie do not watch it. I realize this may be language used by young people today. But having never experienced it at such an unbelievable percentage of the conversations every time someone opened their mouths, we did not believe it was necessary to present the content and points they were trying to make in such a manner. Seeing that we are in the minority of raters is sad because it reflects how far we have fallen in terms of communication.

I do not understand the low rates for this surprising action packed last half of a movie. The acting was 5 stars along with the one after another number of surprises. There are unknown factors for most of the movie that keeps you wondering what was going to happen to the main female lead. She made this movie worth watching. Give it a go, well worth the time.

Woody Harrelson was incredible in this film. So much so that I did not think of him as Woody the bartender in Cheers once after the movie got started. Actually, I only thought of him as Lyndon Johnson throughout the movie. Having read material about Johnson over the years I was aware of the amazing things he accomplished and I only wish they could have been revealed in more detail. Seeing as these reviews should not be about one political side or the other and about the quality of the acting etc, it was all 5 stars. Jennifer Jason Leigh was amazing in her role as Lady Bird. I did not even realize it was her until the credits rolled. Bill Pullman was so believable in his role as an anti Johnson foe who could not clap hard enough at Johnson's speech to the nation at the end. Reiner, the movie could not have had better direction. Cheers to everyone who contributed to this marvelous movie.

I cannot believe the high ratings for this piece of junk. It has to be everyone who never bothered to watch the very first Superman with Chris Reeve. This movie was absolutely nothing but crash, smash and boom throughout. It had no plot, no drama nothing to make it memorable. This movie has already been forgotten along with the cast. I am 80 years old next month and have watched thousands of films of which I have many. This one will never be included. Such a waste of talented actors.

The acting is only below par as the series moves along because of the script. They can only say what they are given by the writers and it is weird in many cases. The first story was not as bad as the second or the sinking of the boat. Having lived in St. John's Newfoundland for four years and took my car on the ferryboat to get there, there was no realism involved. This could have been filmed anywhere because they did not capture the wonder of Newfoundland other than some marvelous scenes. Their biggest mistake was not to use many Newfoundlander's in significant roles. Actually, I do not recall hearing that wonderful Newfoundland accent at any time. Nor any of their Newfoundland phrases. Most of the actors were supposed to be Newfoundlander's so why not use them. We have many of them who are wonderful actors, men and women. So, having been critical of the show, the wife loves it and I need to raise my voice to get something else on the TV in the evenings right now. Thank goodness she is a big Blue Jay fan and the games are saving me from watching this show all evening. It can be interesting that's for sure.

Simply put, without attempting to analyze or figure out any message or ideals intended, unfortunately, most of you who will watch it, like myself will at the end feel disappointment with the time wasted. Why, because it is so irrelevant. Especially well educated (unlike myself) middle to older movie buffs will not be able to be drawn into the points of interest because it is totally unexciting, uninteresting and a slow boring movie. The average rating given by viewers should be accepted and you should find something with value to watch.

This movie is pure junk. The initial court proceeding was so ridiculous one has to wonder who was responsible for the script. Don Johnson is allowed to give a speech about the defense side of the story without question, interruption nothing. He painted the victim into a hooker and nothing more. Everyone listened and the defendants laughed. No such procedure would ever be allowed in a courtroom. The judge told the victim to remove the sunglasses she needed because of the effect of bright lights on here injured eyes, without an ounce of concern about her. It was pure garbage, watch at your own risk of wasting your valuable movie watching time. I'm sure the vengeance scenes will make many watchers happy.

I just watched this movie for the first time. Over half way through it I asked my wife the name of Costner's girlfriend. I like to look them up when they are special & she was really special. I wish I had not looked her up because Kelly Preston died from breast cancer in 2020. I don't think anything like this has ever affected me as much. Why do such things happen to such special people who can work their way into your heart in 40 minutes in a movie. She had something you cannot define, and I am going to be looking up all her movies to add to our DVD collection. This is a terrific movie because of her, so don't miss it. If you have already seen it, watch it again to enjoy a very special Kelly Preston.

The three stars are for the acting of Scarlett Johansson and special effects, there was nothing else that made this silly movie barely worth the time spent. If you do not care about realism and have no trouble watching one of those totally unbelievable movies, because the action is great, be my guest. Otherwise, find something of value to your mind to watch.

Very entertaining, worth the time spent if you are into action films. The actors were very good with what they had to work with in this type of film. They were always believable and worth following throughout the film. The plot was believable and you are pulled in all the way to the very end. You will enjoy this action war movie.
