As an actual dog lover, this pack is highly disappointing. They have taken away the ability to control the animals. I used to spend hours roll playing as dogs cats and horses (roaming around the open world in sims 3) but talking about dogs alone. They have taken away the rabbit hole dog training competitions that was in sims 3. Which was bare minimum as well. The dog things are horrible. You get a couple flat pancake dog beds and bulky unrealistic dog agility equipment that doesn't work very well and its ugly. No more dog houses, no dog play pens for puppy's, no cool dog beds. You get 35 different variations of a dog ball and that's it. Its needs more toys and enrichment for dogs, different beds, smoother agility equipment use, Dog crates, dog houses, kennels, puppy pins, dog gates, stuff to do with your dog like competitions (grooming, show, performance) the ability to be a dog trainer or dog walker or even doggy daycare. The ability to be dog breeder with different branches to be an ethical breeder or to have a bad reputation for good story telling. The ability to walk multiple dogs at once. They really dropped the ball on this. At the time it came out I was grateful to have them in game but you cant do much with them. They are like accessories not actual pets. I would pay 40 more dollars for an entire new dog expansion pack if it would mean I could actually do things with the dogs.
