I’m torn with this series. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the books which makes it difficult to watch this, as this series does not follow the book really at all. It has the basic story but it’s like another telling of the Age from a different perspective or storyteller.. I can understand the need for changes I order to make a show based on a book series of this magnitude. But still it has completely separated itself from the books. The main issues I have is the fact that everyone would know the Dragon Reborn has to be male because the book lore. The dragon reborn is destined to go mad and destroy the world again or save it, based on the fact the male half of the source is tainted, and the fact the previous dragon was male and this prophecy is about the Dragon being Reborn…... The other changes are not as problematic but again has drifted a ways from the original books. Instead we see the story not following the Edmonds Field 5, it’s following Morraine. Maybe it’s a retelling from an aes sedai prospective.
