Dumb movie full of dumnb shallow characters that have unrealistically little regard for their own lives or any others. There's a lot of lazy plot armour but the single moment that made me sure this movie had absolutely nothing important to say was the end.
Brad Pitt's character decides that killing an impossible (yet largely insignificant) amount of german soldiers would be a better use of his life then getting back into circulation, maybe getting a new tank, and hopefully seeing some of his friends make it to the end of the war, which he knows is soon. In case that moment wasn't 'murica enough for you, the whole platoon gladly volunteers to join him in his suicide mission, without so much as a second thought towards their life outside of the war. Barely a whiff of realistic human behaviour in the whole film.
I can't say for sure, but if I had lived through the war I'd probably find this kind of shallow glorification insulting.
