The movie took a cartoon movie, brought it into real life and somehow managed to make it even more cartoony than the original. Unfortunately, this movie takes its place alongside expensive cringe-worthy flops, such as indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull and game of thrones season 8. Some top budget movies invest everything into special effects and completely drop the ball on storytelling. This appears to have been written by a committee of the most boring people you know. Every line falls flat. None of the characters are developed to the point that you could honestly care less about even the title character. She starts the movie as a child already at the peak of magic-weilding, flying, kung fu fighter and has nowhere to go from there. The transitions are jarring, the "love" story is forced and unbelievable. What else? Some kind of cgi kite follows her around occasionally. You will be looking at your phone half the time. Honestly, save your money and watch the cartoon again.
