Despite Marvel's ambitious attempt to expand their universe, Ironheart falls disappointingly flat. The series suffers from a sluggish pace that makes each episode feel twice as long, while the dialogue often comes across as stilted and unnatural. Riri Williams, who should be a compelling lead, feels underdeveloped and her "genius level" intellect is repeatedly told rather than convincingly shown through her actions or problem-solving.
The show's biggest weakness lies in its confused identity. It can't decide whether it wants to be a coming of age story, a superhero adventure, or a family drama, so it does all three poorly. The villain motivations are paper-thin, and the action sequences lack the visual flair and excitement that made Iron Man's flight scenes iconic.
Technical issues plague the production, with inconsistent CGI that makes the suit look more like a video game cutscene than a believable piece of technology. The series feels like it was rushed to fill a slot in Disney+'s lineup rather than being given the time and care needed to craft a worthy successor to Tony Stark's legacy.
and NO I am NOT a Tony Stark fanboy.
