In the book, Long Way Down, A teen boy named Will is set with 3 rules; No crying, No snitching, and Always take revenge. These rules seem to swallow him and become what he follows everyday, especially when he finds out that he had lost his brother to gun violence. I liked the fact that this book was written in verse which makes it a short read and really makes you think about the context of the book. The format reminds me of a different book I read called Forget-Me-Not by Ellie Terry which is a book also written in a poem-like style about a girl with tourettes. Both these books were not only written in verse but had a deep meaning to them and made you feel the emotion in which the book was produced. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels like they might be alone or anyone going through a tough time because the book was quite relatable to me and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way. This is a perfect book for teens and adults and I would highly recommend it.
