Chengiz is a paisa vasool entertaining masala film from Bengali industry after a long time. Jeet gave a solid power packed & intense performance. His action scenes and dialogue delivery are so convincing that you will be cheering for him all the way through the movie. The story is well-written and engaging, which is a refreshing change from the typical run-of-the-mill masala films. Neeraj Pandey's smart writing has added a layer of intrigue to the plot. His style really gets reflected here. Production value, action scenes & bgm are really good. Not even once will you feel that the budget is less or that it's a regional cinema, it feels so good to look at. The 3 songs don't feel forced and are bangers. The downsides for me will the lead actress Susmita, some bits of runtime and some supporting cast/plot elements which holds it back from becoming a perfect film. But anyways, the positives far outweighs the negatives and this is definitely a popcorn entertainment fun that deserves a watch.
what a painful watch this is. Got way too much annoyed with so much constant spoonfooding . And long advertisement scenes in the film, that contribute nothing to the film that's so outrageous, haven't seen anything like this in my life. They literally have characters that laugh loudly on jokes to remind us that heyy bro, laugh, we have cracked a joke here. The comedy tries way too hard and doesn't work except few instance. But suspense & thrilles are a joke, total zero. Only positive thing was Anirban's performance as Eken, but otherwise whole movie was so unwatchable.
The Eken
Gangubai Kathiawadi is the mass paisa vasool Bollywood Cinematic experience that we were missing. Alia Bhatt totally nails the character. Chills, Goosebumps, Emotional!! Sanjay Leela Bhansali really is a masterful storyteller, was immersed into this world. What a performance by Alia Bhatt - owned the character of Gangubai Kathiawadi. She dominated every frame with her dialogue delivery, expressions, charisma, dynamic screen presence. Could feel her emotions. She is perfect for the role, wasn't a miscast at all. Ajay Devgn - powerful performance, esp his eyes. Vijay Raaz - very solid. Seema Pahwa - menacing. Jim Sarbh - good. Shantanu Maheshwari - good debut. Their scenes with Alia Bhatt are so good. SLB's direction is beautiful, visuals were aesthetically pleasing.
