Imagine unironically playing a pokemon game for the story. Imagine a pokemon game that can make you cry from just hearing one track from it over 10 years later. A game that gives you goosebumps with its title theme alone. Now realize that that game is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. The gameplay may not be for everyone (and certainly took me a little bit to get into) but with a story that is every bit as unpredictable as it is enthralling, a soundtrack loaded with bop after bop, and an extremely charming world to explore, there’s no doubt in my mind that this is the best pokemon games ever made.
