There should be a trigger warning for this book and it's more of a horror book with all of the scenes of graphic sexual torture and murder then be classed as thriller or a mystery. It starts out interesting but it's predictable and horrible and disturbing. Claire is so stupid and as the plot progresses it is so unbelievable. The only good writing is the father's journal entries. There are so many gratuitous scenes of graphic sexual torture that it is like reading pornography then an actual novel. I don't know what she was thinking and I believe it was very irresponsible not to have a trigger warning on the book. I will never read one of her books again.
