Honestly where to begin? I am a pretty big fan of Amy. Her life, personality, and most of all musical ability, has me in awe. She was not "trained" in music and came from a somewhat average upbringing. Unfortunately, the film failed to highlight or take the viewer through her life.
Instead, it focused on her drug problem, and made her father/husband appear to be saints. Anyone who has seen the documentary knows this is far from the truth. In fact, her father had encouraged Amy on multiple occasions to NOT go to rehab. Hence, the popular hook "I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine". Blake was a pretty horrible partner from the beginning based on the accounts in the documentary.
Most of all, it was disappointing for Maria Abuela to use her own vocals when Amy had such a unique voice. It really did a misjustice to Amy's range/vocal ability.
My overall hot is just watch the dang documentary. It was so good and really captured the essence of Winehouse's highs and lows better this "film" ever could.
