Definitely the direction the games should go, love the open world and features, but performance definitely an issue as of right now and still lacking some features that honestly legends arceus did better like physical contact moves in battles.

I would rate it 4.5/5. I’m having an absolute blast. Finally they’re doing something different. I love the art direction and finally pokemon have a bit more of a personality with new animations. Spending hours in the open areas is really fun and the Pokédex tasks make it feel like you’re doing research not just getting one of each in a ball. The new battling system is very interesting. Runs smoothly. I even like the story so far! Most of all I don’t think I’ve ever felt as tense as when a shiny spawned and I had to sneak up on it and try very carefully to stealth catch it since it was too early on to have better than heavy balls and I would of lost in battle. Catching that was a whole new experience knowing it could of just ran away. The things to improve are still many though. You could have way more interesting side quests than show me x pokemon. And definitely even more animations or even better interactions would go a long way to making this a 10/10. Just wanna see a load of bidoof trying to scare off a staraptor or something.Still for me personally and anyone I think longing for a more exciting change to the franchise, especially if you like single player open world stuff, this is the best Pokemon game ive maybe ever played and the first time in a long time ive genuinely enjoyed the series again.
