Almost 7 hours in. I'm genuinely liking it. There are a few things I'm still unsure about (such as some dialogues feeling a bit too plain) and certain redesign choices, but that doesn't outweigh the good.
You get to choose your personality again (blue, purple or red) and have it affect the way NPCs interact with you. It's not open world so it doesn't feel as massive as Inquisition did, but there's still room to explore and discover things.
Combat wise, it's very dynamic, but definitely different from the previous games. Adjusting to it was similar to how it took me a while to get used to Inquisition after playing DA2, but there are still certain mechanics that feel on-brand (pausing to choose or combine attacks). Overall, it's fun but can be a bit overwhelming if you prefer micro-managing.
Visually it's beautiful. It's different to the previous games the same way Inquisition is different from DA2 and DA2 different from Origins. If you expect dark and gritty like Origins it might not be for you. The colors are quite vibrant but I'm sure it could vary depending on where you are and I haven't gotten that far yet.
Fuck review bombers who have barely played a Dragon Age game and definitely haven't played this one.
