It’s a good game. Great game if you’re deeply in love with HP and the lore; you’ll be able to ignore the flaws…
I’ll just highlight what makes it good vs great. Don’t mean to be over-critical but really want to highlight why
Game kind of feels a little dead, movement a little clunky, everything a little outdated when you compare animations/ graphic fidelity with some of the better games of last year and the year before. thought you would be able to interact with more NPCs, but going into the common room of your house for example, you’ll only be able to interact with 2/20 students in there, and just listen to dialogue amongst the NPCs that you can’t interact with. Reminded me of Witcher 3 where the world looks gorgeous but the npcs all seem to sound the same.
No co-op, quidditch, and banners have no collision animation, but they put in 400 (exaggerated) different types of rugs you can put in your house to decorate it. You can cast combat spells through npcs, no reaction from students as you blast the wall 20 times
Combat is a bit clunky like the movement. There needs to be a little more enemy variety, and loot is very basic compared to other loot systems in other games. No consequence to spamming spells, as there is no mana, taking a dimension of strategy out of the game.
Also didn’t like the idea of being the ‘chosen’ one, going into the school not studying anything, but then being placed with last year students that have been at the school their whole life.
Good game, but not ground breaking, or a poster-child for other studios to emulate or rise their own quality to be up to par
