This book called "Happiness is a Serious Problem" should be staple reading for our culture..Why?
(1) The book is substantive meaning much thought is arrayed to demonstrate the importance of happiness. The book challenged the weight I had put on the subject & the fact is how many of us enjoy being around unhappy people??
(2) It's substance shows itself evidently by challenging how we all live.
If emotions guide our lives then almost any choice can seem acceptable at times. But if happiness is a moral choice, we must all consider how our lives impact our families, our communities & the next generation.
(3) The book is not fluff or have little gravitas to it. Dennis Prager is in my estimation surely in the same league as Seneca or Plato. What thoughtful man or woman, boy or girl should not want to read & benefit from one of the great minds of our age??
(4) I consider unhappiness the scourge of our time. Surely, the book reveals most unhappy are alcoholics, drug addicts, or into abuse & violence. For if our society is truly happy we won't need a substance or we won't act out our angst on women & girls who deserve our love & respect.
Bravo Dr. Prager for this monumental work you put out for all of us to read. If you are not a doctor of philosophy you deserve to be.
Occasionally, great books of philosophy & intelligence make their way to the world. This is one book all leaders & thinking people should read & maybe the decisions that are made we will be glad for our time & times to come.
Thank you Mr. Prager for enlightening our! minds & hearts. I, for one, am grateful to bathe & be refreshed & empowered by the light you have shared with us all & for the great encouragement you have given me!! Bravo!!
