The outstanding number of 5-star reviews had me hesitant over writing this but... it was these reviews which brought me to the series... I regret everything. I understand that this is based on a novel with some aspects a little toned down ( which I am grateful for) but I can't help but feel like there's something off. The aesthetics and all are great but the way the story progresses almost annoys me. The character building especially. I mean if someone were to ask me to describe the main lead... I'd have nothing striking to say. There is no personality in the characters, they're almost like props to the main story, they're just so shallow. There is no complexity in the characters. For example the cliche evil ex. The expressions in some situations had me wanting to roll over a filthy puddle just to distract myself. Maybe it's because I don't know Thai that to me some expressions just seem off. ( By expressions I'm referring to the acting). Going in I had way too much expectation from this with the amazing reviews but was so disappointed. So yea... I was deceived and am giving a two-star review to compensate (More like warn people like me). I have obviously not finished the series ( It hasn't ended yet) nor do I wish to watch any further. This might come out to be rude but... to me, it seems like a show meant for 14 year olds in terms of plotting, character building etc... but caters to a much more mature age group because of all the... you know what I mean... Also, I forgot to mention how the action scenes were somewhat underwhelming. Tbh If you want to watch an Action/Romance bl and don't mind anime 'Banana Fish' is perfect for you.
