Just finished watching this web series and must say it was pretty good with the ending that left door ajar for a scintillating season 2.
The good points-
1) The performances are top notch- Naseerudin Shah is superlative in a role which has a few gray shades, he is matched in his histornics by Atul Kulkarni and Sheebha. The lead pair is fresh and competent. Rahul Kumar as Kabir has the best lines while Kunal Roy Kapur is a bit over the top but still engaging. Rajesh Tailang and Amit Mistry have provided able support.
2) I belong to Jodhpur and it was so refreshing to see my native place captured beautifully especially the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort in all its splendor and glory.
3) the story line is intriguing and fresh though becomes a little melodramatic in the last 2 episodes.
4) this might be the first show which brings classical music right into your living room, the intricacies and nuances of classical music is captured well also throwing ample light on how youtube singers think and sing.
5)The music by SEL is fantabulous, hats off to them for blending classical with contemporary so well
The bad points-
1) the story could have been better
2) Radhe n Tamannas love story is surreal, they belong to two completely different world and their love story is unconvincing and does not look real.
3) Tamanna never does anything for Radhe without benefit. Radhe is head over heels in love with her while she is like ho hum. For her he is more like friends with benefits than a lover.
4) where is the local accent? Its so disappointing to see none of actor speaking in Marwari accent. Of all the actors only Rajesh Tailang dresses like a Jodhpuri middle aged middle class guy. I am not sure if the accent was deemed to be unnecessary or was overlooked knowingly.
5) Radhe, if shown authentically, would not have understood even 20% of Tamannas english.
6) Panditjis attitude towards Digvijay is just not explored properly, what is the reason of Panditji's anger? In fact Panditji's apathy towards Digvijay is very unconvincing and it should have been the other way round afterall it was Panditji who abandoned his family.
Overall a show which would surely make you fall in love with classical music.
