This movie is an esoteric masterpiece. It intends to rob us of all we hold dear, and imprison it deep inside the darkest corners of our minds, where what we fear the most comes true. Those who don't have a palate for those kind of stories won't like Hereditary, which ultimately has no bearing on this outstanding dark and psychological work of art. Cinematography and direction excellent! The entire cast was brilliant, but Toni Collette's performance shines this film into its horrifically tragic glory. This is realistic, emotional, and teeth grinding horror at its BEST! So of course they would say it was bad. But you be the judge!
