If it were possible to give this movie a lower rating, I absolutely would. Going into this having never the book, I had no expectations and somehow it was still underwhelming. The acting is ok for the script provided, however considering how poorly written the script is, they don’t have much to work with. I wish I could say the plot was slow, but there was no apparent plot until the poorly depicted suicide scene in the last 15 minutes. This movie tried to bring light to very real mental illnesses and did a horrendous job of it. The characters themselves continually changed personalities where it was very unnatural and served no purpose whatsoever. Also: the only thing that could be considered a plot point is their school project and neither one of the protagonists seemed to even know they had the assignment. Truthfully, there were so many awful things about this movie. If I could un-watch it, I would.
