I went back and re-read the whole trilogy when I found out this show was coming out. They've taken the characters and locations and wrote their own story here, only loosely based on the books. As for a TV show, it's engaging, however, I can see how it would be confusing for those not familiar with the books. And the actor(s) are good. But, if you were expecting The Witching Hour by Anne Rice, it's not. 3 stars for the acting and location shots.
