Look, most of the people are trying here to be nice because it was a religious movie. But I would be truthful.
I’m a religious man myself and went to see the movie with great hopes of seeing the history of sikhs in all their glory. But this movie was about something else. Sikh history constitutes only 10% of the movie and the remaining 90% of the story is of the ‘bhands’ that goof around all the time and have nothing inspiring. Tarsem Jassar is another cheap Jack Sparrow.
Trust me, as the movie ended- it was expected to leave audiences in their seats contemplating about their choices, history and everything. But this was so bad, that there was a big line of people leaving the theatre right when the credits hit the screen.
I also feel pity for the nihang jthebandis who went to see their glory but other than climax all they saw was romance of Zahoor and Noor.
All I can say is that this is not a religious movie. This is a movie about ‘bhands’ that try to act like sikhs and end up dying in the act.
Not highly recommended.
