I have to say I really didn't enjoy this book. Basically it's about an Irish girl trying to find her sexuality. She couldn't make up her mind if she preferred men or women. Facncy words were used to make an impression, and she did make an effort to show that she was actually in Hong Kong. Not a good read.

Unbelievable read. The history, the romance and the torment that the survivors went through is mind blowing. The pace of the book is excellent and the characters are believable. Although the subject is of war and "mans inhumanity to man", its written with such empathy and paths, that one cannot stop reading it.

An excellent read. Very poignant and heartbreaking at times. An excellent insight into the History of this kind of "home".However it does have a good ending. I would definitely recommend this book.
