It's a great, fun album. I picked it up after (or, was it before...???) seeing a couple shows in 1992, a year after the two shows they recorded this live album during.
My understanding is Walter just happened to be in NYC, on one, if not both of those nights, and that's when the Steely Dan part two ball started to roll.
