This is a very well-written book with a lot of helpful and practical information! It is a wonderful blend of technical and layman information. He does get a little geeky but doesn't cross the line of being full of himself. His passion comes through that geekiness! It is both awesome and refreshing!
If you are interested in living with a better quality of life and enjoying the years ahead of you Dr. Attia has a lot of practical things you can do no matter what your age to help you both plan for your "golden" years and to enjoy them. We plan for retirement but do you plan for having the health to enjoy it?
Dr. Attia assist you in doing both. If you have spoken with your financial planner and apply what you're learning here, you will now have the financial and physical health to enjoy your retirement years.
I love the fact that he isn't full of himself blaming you for your A1c numbers going up when you just lost 45 pounds. But recognizes that perhaps we then need to look at other things like metabolic health.
I love that he doesn't want to wait until your health is failing to address the warning signs. His individualized and preventive approach to medicine 3.0 as he refers to it, is refreshing.
He realizes there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to diet and nutrition, this is a life-saver. But rather asks how can we create an approach to eating that will both help your body function at its peak and you can live with it. If anything I have said in this review resonates with you, then you need to read or get the audiobook version of this book!
