This is not a movie.
It's a cigarette commercial.
My family and I only made it about 15 minutes in and had to stop.
Blatant, awkward, unrelenting cigarette advertising everywhere, even in the poster.
We turned it off when Cooper and Mulligan start meeting in an empty theatre, and he has a cigarette just bouncing around absurdly as he talks non-stop. Then he blows a giant cloud of smoke into Mulligan's face, and she doesn't even blink, just stares, as if oblivious, not coughing or choking like any normal human would--totally real.
See?
Cigarettes are harmless, sexy, and cool!
Wow! I had no idea!
Thanks for the public service announcement, Maestro!
I wonder how much the tobacco industry paid the producers.
One star is too much.
