I saw this movie decades ago and it still reverberates with me. I am consoling a close friend on the loss of his dear wife to cancer on her 64th birthday this past Valentine's day and I suggested this movie to him. It is without equal as a spiritually uplifting piece of art. It brings comfort to the downtrodden and to the suicidal and gives hope; hope for love, hope for conquest, hope for rebirth. A masterpiece. I had always been a fan of Meg Tilley but this could be her finest hour. Christine Lahti also provides a sterling performance.
