While this series, for the last few years, has touched me personally and caused an obsession that has led me to get not one but TWO tattoos related to the show, it’s also become an international phenomenon for all age groups even being referred to once as “the tumblr takeover” due to the boom of fan art related to the show on the platform. The show’s writers originally wrote it as something for teens but were rejected by networks and they changed it to make it for a younger audience and while little kids can definitely enjoy the visual effects, superheroes, and villains, the show is also emotionally appealing to all age groups. Watching the show for the first time, I was immediately attracted to the Parisian setting and love square formed between the story’s protagonists as well as the troubled relationship between Adrien/Chat Noir and his father but there’s still and endless amount of appeal in the show beyond the art and plot. Themes within the show such as secrets, love, wanting to fit in, friendships, loneliness, and much much more are all expressed beautifully and relatable to audiences of all ages. Finally, the show’s creators have done an amazing job at continuing to draw in the audience and keep them wanting more even after painfully long hiatuses by keeping the identity of our heroes secret while still providing iconic and memorable scenes and characters throughout the entirety of the series. I cannot stress enough how amazing this show is and how in love with it I am and how much I recommend it to everyone. Please please please watch it.
