I love that the series is breathing life into fantastic characters that were missed in the movies. The movies lost major points with me in how they portrayed Aragorn and the Ents and I'm guessing it's non-readers who think the movies were so fantastic. I much prefer the excitement of seeing each episode reveal more gold nuggets of Tolkein's world and listening to the excellent script make such good use of his writing. Superbly done.
