Good leads, some clever writing -- but much is stupid, illogical, not thought through. E. g.:
> English teacher (Mr. Morgan), protagonists' father (Walter Stratford), guidance counselor (Ms.Perky), etc., are surrealistically unrealistic, whle leads are written as plausibly real characters. Ms. Perky seems promising, at least interesting, in the first reel -- then she disappears.
> Kat's bff, Mandella, is superfluous, absurdly improbable {a gorgeous adolescent with no other friends, male or female, because she's obsessed with Shakespeare?} and she barely appears until 3/4 of the way through.
> In huge school with 1/2 dozen ID'd subgrouops, only one black student character, and she's just a pale sketch.
> Three girls have unanticipated prom dresses just waiting in their closets.
All of this could have been fixed in script developnent, and would have made an OK movie into a really good one.
