I just watched the film Padre Pio, with Shia LaBeouf, because I noticed it was included with Prime. I decided not to see it in the theaters because the advance word was very bad. But I decided to watch it out of curiosity. This film was even worse than I expected. It’s a Communist propaganda film, with some scenes of Padio Pio included for no apparent reason. The scenes with Padre Pio bear no relation to the story, which is really about the justice of the Italian Communist cause versus the evil of the anti-Communists. Padre Pio is depicted, when he does appear, as beset by evil, in the form of demonic visitations. He is in darkness, in his own words, in his spiritual life. He is impotent. There is no light, love or presence of God in this film. No miracles, no reading hearts, nothing of the kind. Just an impotent priest tortured by evil as a kind of commercial break from the story of the Italian Communist heroes. This film is EVIL. Really evil. Do NOT see it.
