I purchased this after completing ('The Governor' by Vanessa Frake) which I might add, was one of the best audiobooks I've listened to - I highly recommend it. *audiobook* This book however was wildly different. First of all the narrator's voice drones on and on. There's absolutely no variation in tone. Would not recommend listening to this one. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend reading it either. The way this woman talks about the prisoners is unprofessional. The way she describes herself comes across as self absorbed. She initially describes herself as a sexual object among everyone in the prison. Why on earth as a trainee psychotherapist in a prison, would you turn up wearing tight, provocative clothing? Why would you then describe yourself as so among the prisoners and wardens? Setting yourself apart from everyone else. Putting yourself on a pedestal. If you have absolutely no other thoughts other than how good you look compared to everyone else and how your young body looks to the male staff and prisoners you're meant to be working alongside, you need to rethink your career path. I should have read the other reviews before purchasing this.

Even Peters performance in Dahmer is mesmerising and he captivates you from the start. The first episode showcases the artistic flare of the director and production team with absolute genius. The music and lighting themes flow throughout. It's a pure cinematic masterpiece from beginning to end. Not forgetting in any way that this is a true series of events. That harrowing realisation hits at every turn. The factual details are articulated with great care and respect with mind blowing similarities shown, so you can really step inside the life and mind of Jeff Dahmer. This series is a must see.

Monster

If this film were a drink I'd liken it to a lukewarm milky tea. It's meant to come across as a romantic, philosophical literature - im sure, actioned by the true greats of film ( well, two of them) More of a play than a movie. That's fine. If that were the case. Unfortunately all of that talking about what I could only describe as a 'neither here, nor there' subject, makes for a very beige viewing.

Whoa! This film is something else. I can't remember the last time i saw a trailer for a film that didnt expose the plot completely. A surprise for once! I absolutely love seeing two people fall in love like this.The looks. The touches. Brilliant actors like these can tell you so much with just an expression. I really felt that intense connection that the characters shared. The burning desire. The longing for a safe place within each other. The blood and guts ( literally) just worked as a visual tool to ignite that primal urge inside of us. The love story was so well played it completely dulled the frightful images as the audience gets spirited away. It made us feel deeply like the characters. It shocked in places with realistic red stills. A crime scene-but only they would know of what. Propelling the relationship and its intense emotions to a bloody end. A visual masterpiece. Exactly what film is meant to be. This film is amazing because you don't feel a disgust or a dislike to the things they do. You want them to succeed and just be. Brilliant.

This eloquently produced, directed and played out series, sees beautiful people with beautiful lives, gently, then ever so rampently lose the very substance that holds their lives together. Nicole Kidman and Huge Grant hold up these characters integrity with ease. As the plot twists and turns, you think you've got it sussed, but the last two episodes gallop you towards a thrilling crescendo, hanging on for life! Seeing that unfamiliar but intensely captivating glint in Hughs eyes at the end, firmly assures you that you've seen something great..
