So cute. Really didn’t know if I’d even like the show but gave it a chance because of Hahn and a few other actresses I love that are casted in the show. Episode 2 really drew me in when they chanted the ballad of the witches road. I wish I could have it as a ring tone. It’s cute how light hearted the show seems to be but the more serious it gets, the more drawn in I become. I love getting to know the history of the witches in Agatha’s coven as the episodes continue. And I love seeing Patti Lupone in a more playful but still serious role. Can’t wait for more. I love Agatha’s painfully slow character development. Someone that’s been so wicked and closed off for centuries isn’t going to allow themselves to be vulnerable and sincere so easily. If you watch it and think, “wow, this seems sort of targeted towards kids”. It’s because it is. So as I continue watching this season, I ask my 33 year old self, would I have been into this show as an adolescent? The answer is yes. Adults don’t seem to be the targeted audience and that’s okay. Watch Penny Dreadful if you’re looking for an emotionally taxing show. Not to say that Penny Dreadful isn’t an incredible show. But after a long day, an emotionally taxing show where I might end up crying, isn’t entirely what I’m looking for. Seems rushed at parts but I’m sure the show was on a tight budget. It gave off a similar vibe to Halloween Town, but a smidge darker and I’m into it. If they came out with more seasons, I’d watch them.

I have been obsessed with Star Wars since I was a child. I’m in my 30s. It’s hard for me to see these spin offs on Disney+ as anything more than George Lucas fan fiction films. They don’t come from him, they come from peoples interpretation of his stories. Having said that, I loved this show. I’ve always been a fan girl for Jedi. I’ve observed them closely both in his films and the clone war series. George Lucas has never painted the Jedi as flawless users of the force. He showed darkness creep into the hearts of Jedi throughout the clone wars. I like that this show magnifies that, where George Lucas kept it kinda subtle. It shows how easy a person can be corrupted by their intentions. It shows the entitlement of Jedi and a real connection between Jedi and Sith. Plus I’ve always loved the witches in the Coven. I love any stores focused on them. And my heart broke for their tribe. I was really expecting to hate this show but I just completely fell in love with it. Let the people who love it love it. It’s already had more views than other Star Wars spin offs. I’m hoping for a season 2. The season finale really set me up for it.
