My grandfather was a first generation American as his parents both immigrated from Germany in the Mid-1800's. He fought for the Americans and remained in Germany for another year serving as a translator. With this film, I am finally able to fully understand the horrors he saw. He did not want to have any children.in his words.."no boys to send to war as cannon fodder."
