its good i don’t understand the hate i went into this expecting an abomination of cinema, like the worst of the worst of 2023, because basically every review i’ve seen of this said it was horrible, and i came out confused because i actually really enjoyed it. was this some sort of mass brainwash thing? is the goverment trying to cover something up? who knows. Obviously its quite a weird movie with a couple raunchy and over-the-top gross scenes but who cares, it kinda added to the whole weird obsession vibe of the movie. The performance’s also added to that, an absolutely stellar performance from Barry Keoghan, as per usual, Jacob Elordi actually did fantastic in this, i wasn’t expecting such a good performance on his part. the rest of the cast did great as well, especially the gay guy i forget his name but he did good. the twist in the end i think was the best part of the movie. it wraps it all up in such a nice, weird bow that you never saw coming. (well, maybe at times but not really.) although i won’t spoil it here, the twist comes out of the FAR left field, but also makes a lot of sense and warrants a re-watch to catch stuff you missed. a couple things i didn’t like, theres a scene in here that shows where oliver lives and who his parents are (not spoiling) that i think kind of undermines the whole “eat the rich” message of this movie, i didn’t really care for how hard to follow the story is before the twist is introduced which is why i recommend rewatching it, but other than that i thought it was a solid movie that i really enjoyed.

I don’t understand the hype This is just my opinion so don’t like burn me at the stake or anything but i didn’t love this movie as much as i thought i would. in my opinion, this movie’s Godzilla moved very robotic and slowly, almost like we’re reverting back to the older black and white films (which i think is the point but why?) and on top of that, his design was quite unexpressive and boring, his eyes i thought were pretty scary looking but other than that he looked awkward and weird. I also think the ending was horrible, no spoilers here but i just couldn’t stand it, the last like 5 minutes that is, you’ll know what i’m talking about if you go and see it (i suggest you prolly wait until streaming) i did like SOME parts of the movie, don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t completely horrible. for one, i thought the sound design was fantastic. when he charges and fires his atomic breath and you see the explosion after, the suspense and silence is nerve wracking. I also really enjoyed the way his roar sounded, it made up for his design in that it was intimidating, loud, and scary. The human story was another thing i enjoyed, i liked the tie in with WWII and Bikini Atoll, i loved the characters and i liked their chemistry, for instance the mine sweeping crew, i loved the guy with the curly hair and glasses, i thought he was pretty charming, i also liked the kid, she was adorable. the main character i didn’t really like, maybe because his acting preformance wasn’t that great. easily the greatest thing about the movie is the last half, it almost was worth the previous hours of waiting, its suspenseful, nail biting and tense, i found myself clenching up whenever Godzilla snapped at the good guys. if only the ending didn’t completely ruin the whole thing. in other words, if you’re a huge fan of the older Godzilla movies, you’d probably enjoy this, but coming as someone who came because literally everyone and their brother was hyping this thing up to be the mother of all 2023 movies, so yeah, i just don’t see the appeal.

movie was a mess but my main problem is they made white people the villians. just uncalled for, why cant we just make a movie with black main characters and just have white characters with them? it’d make for a better film if white and black weren’t constantly against each other (jordan peele) it makes no sense, if these movies are against racism then why involve it in every plot? these types of movies only exist to tear us apart, and to exemplify problems that barely even exist anymore. you wanna make a movie where black people vs white people make sense? try making the plot during 1920. that’d make for a better movie then whatever this mess is.
