"This prophecy is how they enslave us!" It seems that state of the art visual effects work on the audience in much the same way as well. Observing an all-star cast and the results of a budget to match, one might be a bit disappointed by the lackluster plot. Shouting in their foreign language, sword-fighting in the desert, and CGI blue eyes for everyone should distract the moviegoer from the total waste of their time. However, weary movie-goer don't fret, you won't leave empty-handed. Your sacrifice shall be rewarded; immersion in loud and profound themes; self-sacrifice, defiant faces, evil tyrants, war, and superficial religious paraphrasing that are somehow tied to giant desert serpents. It's just original enough to suspend disbelief, that there isn't anything new under the sun.
