Knowing the brutality of Auschwitz, I felt the emotional tension during the entire movie. The narrator did a wonderful job of immersing me in the state of mind of the characters within the culture of Nazism.
The director of the movie did a wonderful job of illustrating the cognitive dissonance in the characters’ mind and the rationalization of leading a family life. And how seemingly Normal people can do abnormal things.
