I have been wanting to write my point of view for quite sometime. Firstly, I watched this movie some 5 or 6 years ago, back then I could not capture the essence of the movie. Subsequently, I researched about the movie and most importantly it's director, "The Maestro" Sergio Leone. This was his last feature film and was also the last of his "once upon a time" Trilogy. Honestly, I would say the movie and it's direction are something which are "once in a lifetime" things, truly befitting it's title. All the aspects of the human emotions and relationships are superbly captured in the film and you would wonder why didn't you watched this earlier or whether your life was a waste before watching this masterpiece. The closest thing which comes close to this masterpiece is "Novacento" , made by his paisan Bernardo Bertolucci. The soundtrack provided by "The" Ennio Morricone is splendid and I am sure it will be with you for rest of your lives. Every piece of the movie is superbly enacted. But the highlight for me is the way in which Dominic says to Noodles while dying on the Manhattan Bridge that "Noodles, I slipped" , it surely gets me every time I watch the movie.
