I was dreading a terrible series, with woke anachronisms. I was pleasantly surprised and the first episodes are a great start. Nothing really wrong regarding a second age adaptation : it is not 100% what JRR Tolkien would have written, but close enough after 2 episodes. Acting is decent but not great. Could have been a 4 star review based on these comments BUT that would be missing the fact that the picture is simply breathtaking! From wonderful landscapes to elven and dwarven cities. This high budget show clearly delivers when it comes to picture quality. I haven’t see any bad CGI and the universe is 100% credible. Well done! I am looking forward to watching the next episodes. HDR and Dolby Atmos: eyes and ears are in for a treat!
