I don’t play the game but I’m passingly familiar with the world. I wasn’t expecting anything from this movie and thought I would watch it and make fun of how cheesy it was going to be. But none of it was. The visual effects were very good, the pacing was spot-on, the character motivations were believable, and the acting was top-notch. I appreciated how much of the characters’ stories were introduced in such a short time, but none of it felt forced. It felt like a love letter to WoW, and it looked like everyone who worked on the movie brought their full passion to their craft. I was very impressed.
