Truly remarkable.
So many people have called this the "new Walking With" but this is on a whole other league.
Beautiful cinematography, thrilling story lines, immaculate designs and (of course) only the most up to date scientific information.
The healthy dose of speculation (nothing too major, mind you) really helps to make this world feel alive, especially in regards to the matting behaviour. David Attenborough's narration works wonders with the CGI and makes it easy to forget that you aren't watching the real thing - if the quality of the animation didn't anyway!
My only real issues come from the CGI and some of the sequences in particular. Firstly, sometimes - "Deserts" being the only time it's particularly noticeable - the models are less well implemented into the environment and it can take away from the enjoyment of the show. Secondly, some of the sequences don't really feel like they go anywhere, Deinocheirus being the main offender here.
I totally adore this show already. I've watched every episode at least twice ("Coasts" and "Freshwater" are already up to five times each) and I can say with absolute certainty that I will be watching more. Every fibre of passion poured in by the team is detectable in the show and not even the small gripes I could find take away from the awe, wonder and beauty this show provides.
P.S. I've noticed some reviews complaining about the number of "cute baby dinos" and saying that it's been "Disneyfied". I have no idea what those are about. There are a lot of juveniles in the show (because fossil evidence and our understanding of these animals tells us that they would have prioritised number of young when reproducing) but there is nothing here servicing to children. *SPOILERS!* Lots of these babies die, numbers nearing triple digits!
