Why, I think this film is magnificent.
It's subject matter, theme, and cinematography are all black and white, and,
Unfortunately the American landscape
deprives minorities from being fully able to flesh out a colorful existence-
and perceived changes to existence, whether on a personal level or as sweeping societal changes
begin hopefully bathed in bright light
but end darkly, tragically, nonsensically
enshrouded in darkness.
More than a coinage character study.
Passing is quiet, it's sound contained and carried through by all that Jazz.
