feels like 0 progression has been made for the main character uhtred, right now i dont even know what his purpose is, he doesnt even know the "fate" he keeps talking about, he is just wondering around and at the same time getting all those close to him killed off one by one starting from season 1 till season 4 due to his absolute confusion of what he wants, dresses like a dane but fights for christians yet refusing to be christian, odin would be proud, wishes for land and riches but when he has chance to be king he decides not to be king and then loses his so called "love" and power along with it, has been fighting from season 1 till season 4 to build "reputation" and the men he can use are just a dozen meanwhile other people can easily gather hundreds of men to fight for him, he is not welcomed by christians because he does not believe and he is not welcomed by danes because he has killed so many, he is utterly confused and my time has been wasted for watching all 4 seasons hoping there would be some sort of progression or some kind of growth in his character, but no, he still hasn't shown any growth since season 1, absolute trash of a story, if it is real history then i really dont know why he is getting a tv series for him, and if it isnt real history then whoever is writing the story should retire for the lack of talent, will not watch season 5 even if there is one, what a joke of a series

i mean the action was pretty good, but it feels like the characters are rather stupid for someone that lived for such a long time and has seen so much.
