A movie that romanticizes tragedy and is confusing. Spoilers ahead. The main character has a dysfunctional relationship with her mother. As an audience, you feel bad for her and can relate to her pain. As the movie progresses, we are shown that she is ambitious and determined or perhaps desperate and will go to any length to achieve her dreams. Her choices are questionable, but we are happy that she achieved success. It doesn't end there, later we find out that she is also evil, but the makers want us to feel bad for her. Wait a minute, she has developed mental health issues now. Are you confused? I certainly was after watching the film. I found the movie to be very irritating, repetitive and pretentious at times.
