Megalopolis was a unique whole lot of nothing. I thought I knew what I was going into since I already watched reviews on this, but did not. It is truly an experience. I could see the outline of the story, but everything felt disjointed, awkward, and out of place. The dialogue and delivery was weird, like something out of a highschool play and like they took several shots of each scene and spliced them together. The world building fet like AI, like the world and story was literally in AI. It felt nonsensical and incomplete, and the crappy green screen and cgi did not help either. The chemistry between characters often felt strange. The entire time I was watching the film I was thinking "what the hell is going on?" "what did they just say?" "am I being punked?" "another montage?". Megalopolis is the most confusing thing I have ever witnessed. I laughed throughout the movie because of how absurd it is, but not because it's a "so bad it's good" kinda way. Save your money and wait for it to go to a streaming service. If you have a spare 2 hr & 18 min, feel free to witness what we have.
