This show gets two stars only because of the trainees who were all wonderful and talented. From the start this show encouraged xenophobia and racism in its Korean audience by focusing on the segregation and differences of the trainees from different nations instead of bringing them together.
Mnsake then proceeded to cast C group as the villains and K group as the underdogs who were improving every week (even though they were already talented from the start). Almost as bad as the evil edits of C group (which happened at least once per episode) was the complete lack of screen time for all but a handful of J group trainees.
The flawed voting system is the ultimate nail in the coffin for this garbage fire of a show. Korean votes account for 50% of the score, which makes no sense if the goal is to form a "global" girl group. At the very least, shouldn't voters in China and Japan get the same voting power as Koreans since two thirds of the trainees are from those countries?
Further more, Msnake altered their voting system so that you could only vote for one trainee. The result? A group with a worse foreigner ratio than Twice. Only two Japanese trainees and one Chinese made it in compared to six Koreans. And guess what? The foreigners swept the lowest ranks.
I'm happy that the girls who made it get to debut, but it hurts when out of the trainees consistently ranked one and two for the whole competition one barely made it into the group and one didn't make it all--all because Mnet set up a system designed to seed resentment toward C and J group in the Korean audience, who they gave all the voting power.
Finally the most unforgivable thing Msnake did was use Heuning Bahiyyih's relationship to Huening Kai for clout and then letting her take the brunt of the hate as a result. Absolutely despicable to use a girl of only seventeen, a child, this way.
