This is the Japanese language Godzilla currently in theaters. 15 million dollar budget. I just watched it. In a single word this movie is “ Brilliant “!! It will shock you. The acting and character development is top notch. Takashi Yamazaki is a genius. Every Hollywood executive should watch this movie to find out how you can make a blockbuster under 200 million . None of the other Godzilla movies can hold a candle next to this. The depiction of post WW2 Japan is rendered beautifully. The monster doesn’t make the movie great. The characters make this movie unforgettable and the monster is what Godzilla should be. Not a monster that’s running side by side with King Kong holding hands. A tie for the best movie of the year with the the other being Oppenheimer. It originally was screened in only a few cities and now it’s everywhere. I am not kidding with you when I say it’s the best movie of the year let alone a monster movie. Go see it. Don’t miss this movie. It’s not a made for TV movie. Enjoy it while you can and let me know what you think. Just wow ! I forget all other monster movies when I walk out. This one is unforgettable.
