Score: 8/10 - Well done, but not for me Steven Universe is a beautiful show making progressive leaps, and and a plot to back it all up. The only thing is, I dislike the characters. That's just my preference though and I will still acknowledge what this show has accomplished. Steven seems insufferable for a 14 year old boy, Amethyst's attitude rubs me the wrong way, Garnet lacks charismatic charm, and Pearl is just upsetting. It's just a mashup of socially awkward people trying to live in a magical world. There's deep lore, well developed character arcs, delicious art, and a unique world. On paper it's got everything. I just don't like it.

Score: 10/10 - Outstanding This mini-series is a work of art. The humor tickled me just the right way, the mystery sucked me in, the characters were all lovable, and the narrative left me emotional and satisfied. This series has it all. It's one of the few cartoons I come back to regularly.

Score: 9/10 - Fantastically done Gravity Falls is a masterpiece of world building and mystery. When this show shines, it really shines. The show is a fantastic display of narrative potential in an episodic show format. While it does occasionally fall into the cartoon cliches of frenetic humor with a basic life lesson, it still is made up for in the diverse array of overarching plots and character development.

Score: 4/10 - Passable, not great From the animation, to the humor, to the voice acting, everything is a miss. I had high hopes for this show, but it did not live up. The only thing that keeps this show afloat is a solid narrative arc. If this show went through several more rounds of quality checking, it could have been decent. I'd pass on this unless you have nothing else to watch.

Score: 6.5/10 - Beautiful fluff There's a lot of missed potential in the writing department, but at least it's fun and looks great. There's a great deal of lazy writing that makes it feel disconnected at times, and devalues things that should be significant, like how Carmen got her name. The show redeems itself in the last episodes, but it is not consistent throughout. I'm hoping they can pull it together in season 2.

Score: 6/10 - Above Average For any adventure cartoon junkies, Niko and the Sword of Light is a fun take. The action sequences are well done and the characters are likable. The world is fresh, and the overarching plot keeps this show engaging to watch the whole way through. While it tickles my need for animated shows, it still lacks depth in areas of character development, and while there is some backstory, deeper lore doesn't have a constant pressing mystery behind it. If you are looking for something to enjoy and kill time this is a great show. Just don't expect Gravity Falls or Over the Garden Wall levels of intrigue.

Score: 7/10 - Unorthodox, but cute Bee and Puppycat is an adorable mini-series that has an odd vibe from the very start. The voice acting is sporadic and tends to fluctuate from quiet mumbling to screaming and shouting on a moment's notice (which is my main gripe with the show). Despite the rather nontraditional lax vibe from the voice actors, it works in the show's chill aesthetic, and there's a deeper charming world with likable characters. Worth watching through.
