The movie moves so fast if you don’t know Pride and Prejudice well it will be very confusing. Regency etiquette is lost but it’s not a huge impact on the movie as a whole. The relationships are so glossed over because of how quickly everything is moving that it feels forced. Elizabeth is now a feminist who doesn’t want to lose her power but also a woman seeking true love. It doesn’t really add up and feels contradictory. There is way too much going on in this movie with zombie and Regency politics colliding. I think these two genres would be best left separate where they can both be given enough screen time to develop.
