Their best album by far, the album of the 2020s. Beautiful blend of guitar, strings and vocals that seem to have a steady controlled emotion through the album. The theme ‘Romance’ is totally represented too. The title drops and linkable lyrics in the tracks seem to put the cherry on top with this album, if it wasn’t perfect already. Once you listen to the opening track you already know this isn’t the Fontaines DC you heard 5 years ago. They announced prior to the album release that this would be their most experimental release in their discography and it lives up to that. But not in a harsh way where you have to listen to the tracks a couple times to “get into it” no, they represent their countless new sounds so perfectly in an appetising manner and I want more!!! I think this album is absolutely fantastic and think it deserves more than 5 stars…
